The Monday Cometh

“Blow into this, sir…”

I swear it seems like it’s a Monday morning every other day at the moment. Still, it’s nearly over now.

I was looking forward to catching up on some sleep over the weekend, but that ended up causing more trouble than it was worth. For most of yesterday I had one of those “I stayed in bed for too long” headaches. I’m not sure why I get them, but if I stay in bed past about 10am at the weekends (whereas I usually get up at about 7am during the week) then I develop a rotten headache throughout the day. I’m sure I’m not the only one, but I’ve got no idea what causes it. I suppose the best thing to do would be to go to bed earlier in order to sleep for longer, but who wants to got to bed early at the weekend?

As I mentioned on Friday, I did attempt to record my latest mix over the weekend. However, it didn’t quite go as planned. With each attempt at recording it, I cocked up one of the transitions enough for me to decide to start again, and after three or four attempts, I decided to call it a day. But on playing back the recordings, I don’t think that the mistakes I thought I was making were actually that noticable. Still, I’m a bit of a perectionist, so I’ll have another go this week and see if I can get things right for once.

I doubt I’ll try again tonight, though, as I’ve decided to get down the gym again after work. Three times in one week! That must be some kind of record, but hopefull it won’t be anything unusual as time goes on. I’ve had the weekend to recover from Friday’s outing, so (aside form the lack of sleep – about 5 hours in total) I’m ready to get down the gym tonight. It’s time to work the arms and back today methinks.

For some reason, I only manage to find out what’s happening in the world during the week, when I have time to read the BBC News website. So for the last couple of days I’ve had no idea what’s going on outside of my four walls. If soeone would care to fill me in, that’s be much appreciated. One headline that did catch my attention today though was this. Sounds ridiculous, but I love the idea! If I was stumbling about on the streets of my hometown after a night out, I’m pretty sure there’s nothing I’d like more than to be given a bubble blower and casually blow bubbles until the cows come home. Buble contests are always awesome, and totally harmless. Still, that’s just me speaking, and I’m not exactly inclined to incite a riot at the worst of times anyway.

I’m turning my attention to New Year’s resolutions. There’s so many that I can choose from I don’t know where to start. Driving would be good, as I’ve been meaning to get that out of the way for an age. Perhaps if I book a theory test, that might encourage me to take it, and get on with the practical stuff. I could also make sure I keep going to the gym (which doesn’t seem too hard, at the moment) and also find myself a decent bachelor pad.
