My Weekend Starts Here!

Posted by | Posted in Entertainment, Tunes | Posted on 18-12-2008

Woohoo! Today is the start of my second four-day weekend. At this rate I’m going to forget exactly what it is I do at work!

Over the last couple of days I’ve found myself using some DJ forums (ingeniusly entitled DJForums.com) and so I’ve not been doing much work, or much of anything else for that matter. I have to say that the range of knowledge on those forums is immense. There are complete novices, and proper experts. The good thing is that it’s a very active forum, and people are always willing to contribute. From what I’ve seen the place seems friendly enough, but get on their bad siede and things go very badly for you! Still, it’s a useful place for anyone who DJs. I just cant believe it’s taken me this long to find it!

We had this little beauty of a leaflet posted through our door yesterday. Can anyone see something slightly amiss? For some reason, I always seem to spot blatent common-sense issues such as this.

I don’t know, maybe it’s just my sense of humour, or general cynicism of the world. But I find people don’t tend to read what they write before posting it. I know I don’t half the time.

I’m not exactly what to do with my weekend now. I know I still need to get a few Christmas presents, and I also need to record my new Promo CD Mix. Now that my 3-metre audio cable has arrived, and I dont ned to rearrange my bedroom furniture just to be able to hook my 400’s up to my PC, I think I might give it another shot.

Speaking of tunes, I came up with an awesome “on-the-fly” mashup the other day. It involves a tech-house tune, mixed with bhangra. I thought it worked quite well, so yesterday (to test out my new cable) I decided to play it again, and record it live. You can download it here. By all means tell me what you think of it. I was messing about really, but I think I might try and come up with a couple more mashups like that.
