Yes! It’s Friday again – the best day of the week. It might be pouring with rain outside, the economy might have gone belly up, and I might not have dropped the kids off at the pool yet this morning, but it’s still a great day!

Well, after (briefly) trying to sort out my networking issues yesterday, I had no luck whatsoever. The wireless internet dongle I’m currently using is fine, and so I’m thinking that it must just be an issue with the network adapter itself. The router clearly works, as does my PC in general (when it’s got working hardware, that is) and so today I decided to buy myself a new network card.

Yesterday I had the fantastic idea of installing and trying the latest version of Windws – Windows 7. The beta version had been leaked onto the net a couple of weeks ago, but Microsoft officially released it on 9th January. As some of you may be aware, there was such an overwhleming demand for it that it actually crashed the Microsoft servers that were serving the files.

…and by “it all” I mean “the festivities, but I still have to go back to work”.
Still, you can’t win ‘em all. I have had three three-day working weeks in a row, which is awesome because it means I’ve had more time off work than I have at work. I’ve noticed that there are certain things that I tend not to get done so much while I’m not at work – and I don’t mean the work stuff I should be doing at work. Posting on this blog, and also going down the gym, are the two things that I never seem to manage outside of working hours. That, and reading the BBC tech news site, deleting my spam emails, and keeping up with the goings-on on various forums.

Devastating news – I’ve lost my gym trainers. I went hunting for them this morning, expecting to find them in the fridge or something, but I did’nea find them. I’m thinking that I left them at the gym on Thursday, so I’m going to pop down tonight and have a hunt round for them. Anyone in their right mind would just stay well away from them if I did actually leave them there, so hopefully they wont have gone walkies. I think I need some new ones anyway, and as I’ve got a four-day weekend starting on Thursday, I think a trip out shopping is in order. While I’m there, I should probably get a few last Christmas prezzies too.
