iPhone Temptation

Posted by | Posted in Geek Stuff, Technology | Posted on 03-11-2009

I won’t lie, I’ve been tempted on more than one occasion to get an iPhone. Don’t get me wrong – I think it’s a complete waste of money… BUT it’s a pretty fun way to waste money. Legal, too.

Google Wave

Posted by | Posted in Geek Stuff, Technology | Posted on 19-10-2009

“Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!”

Got myself a Google Wave invite this morning. I have to admit, aside from the info you see posted all over the net, I know very little about it. I know that around 600,000 people have been invited to the preview so far, that it’s constantly a trending topic on Twitter, and that it’s basically a type of real-time collaboration software that includes email, IM and other bits and pieces.

What A Day!

“Nobody puts Baby in a corner.”

Hmm, this year seems to be the year for celebrity deaths it seems. If you haven’t heard already, Patrick Swayze (of Dirty Dancing fame) died today of pancreatic cancer. I can’t say I was a big fan of his films, but at 57, it wasn’t exactly his time to go. Rest in peace.

Calm Before The Storm

Posted by | Posted in Personal Shizzle, Society, Technology | Posted on 07-07-2009

Well, today is Jacko’s memorial service, and even though 17,500 tickets were randomly given out to fans who requested tickets in their millions, I wouldn’t be surprised if many thousands more flood the streets of LA today in the hopes of paying a tribute to their idol.

It’s Happening…

Posted by | Posted in Technology, The 9-To-5 Droll | Posted on 01-07-2009

Remember that post I made a few months ago, telling you all how I thought that the lines between work time and play time would blur because of technology, and how people will start to suffer because of it? Well apparently  I’m not the only one who thinks it.

Bada Bing, Bada Boom!

Posted by | Posted in Technology | Posted on 02-06-2009

(Yeah OK, so everyone has made that joke…)

Today saw the release of Bing, Microsoft’s rebranded and re-launched web search service. Having had a little play about with it, I can safely say that I like it. Then again, it’s quite a lot like Google Search really.

Quick Tech Fix

Posted by | Posted in Geek Stuff, Technology | Posted on 03-04-2009

Just a quick blog post today. This week I came across some interesting news (and rumours) about Google. The first is the announcement of Google Ventures, and the second is a rumour that Google is in talks with Twitter to negotiate an aquisition deal.

Anyways… Moving On

Posted by | Posted in Geek Stuff, Technology | Posted on 10-03-2009

After I was so rudely interupted yesterday, I figured I’d carry on with my roundup of the current tech news and views.

All About The Tech (Part Deux)

Posted by | Posted in Geek Stuff, Technology | Posted on 18-02-2009

“The first law of robotics is: A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. The second law of robotics is… we do not talk about Fight Club.”

There’s a lot going on in the tech world at the moment, it seems. Yesterday saw the release of (and abundance of news stories about) Windows Mobile 6.5. Windows Mobile is the OS used in a lot of PDAs and handheld data device, and even some phones. Asides from my PDA at work, which I never seem to have for more than 5 minutes before someone robs it, is the only experience of Windows Mobile I’ve had. It seems fairly good as Windows goes, so I’ve got no complaints. I’ve also got no news, opinions, or cares about it either.
