Calm Before The Storm

Posted by | Posted in Personal Shizzle, Society, Technology | Posted on 07-07-2009

Well, today is Jacko’s memorial service, and even though 17,500 tickets were randomly given out to fans who requested tickets in their millions, I wouldn’t be surprised if many thousands more flood the streets of LA today in the hopes of paying a tribute to their idol.

Ooo, outrage!

About half an hour before I was supposed to meet with my mortgage advisor yesterday, he rang me up and cancelled the appointment. Grrr!

A Typical Day

Posted by | Posted in Personal Shizzle, Random, Society | Posted on 20-01-2009

I don’t think I like having a typical day, to be honest. I don’t think I’m a routine person at all. I can hack getting up at 7am and doing the typical 9-to-5 job just like everyone else, but I’d rather have something a little more unpredictable. Sure, when I’m all settled down in a few years, then yeah, I’ll want something a little more stable and predictable. But for now, I don’t like this “routine” lark.

The Credit Crunch

Posted by | Posted in Society, Stupidity | Posted on 06-01-2009

I’m almost certain I’ve said this before, but I don’t believe that the credit crunch is as bad as everyone makes out. At least, it wouldn’t be as bad as it is if people didn’t buy into all the hype.

I’m Back!

Posted by | Posted in Monday Mornings, Society | Posted on 15-12-2008

But only for three days! After having a four-day weekend last weekend, I’m back at work, and ready to go! And by ‘go’ I mean ‘go home again’. I thought I might have found the time to post on the blog during the last four days or so, but I’ve found that unless I’m at work (and hence, have nothing to do) I don’t tend to post very often.

Disaster Averted

Posted by | Posted in Random, Society | Posted on 09-12-2008

After trundling off to the gym in the cold and the rain last night after work, I found that my long lost trainers were nowhere to be found. Nor had anyone at the gym picked them up and isolated them for scientific study. As it turns out, they were at home all along, and now I have to suffer the embarrasment of making an appearence at the gym tonight, wearing the trainers that I told everyone I had lost, but had, in fact, not looked hard enough for in the first place.

You’re All A Bunch Of Racists!

Posted by | Posted in Random, Society | Posted on 21-11-2008

Sorry, did I say ‘bunch of racists’? I meant ‘members of the general public’.

I’ve been knackered all week for some reason. Probably because I didn’t get a great deal of sleep last weekend and didn’t bother to catch up during the course of the week. Ah well, that’s what this weekend will be used for! That, and recording my new mix.

Consequences Of Technology

Posted by | Posted in Geek Stuff, Society | Posted on 12-11-2008

“I’m sorry, I can’t do that Dave…”

Last night I was thinking about how great modern technology is, and how brilliant it is that all sorts of devices, from mobile phones to laptops to cameras, can all be connected together wirelessly. How much easier does it make things, when you have a bluetooth mobile and bluetooth laptop? It’s certainly easy to transfer files, as well as sync your various laptop apps to your mobile apps. But before we all get caught up with how good it is to be connected to everything all of the time, I’d like to air my veiws about the grim future that I see unfolding before our very eyes.

Where Did The Weekend Go?

Posted by | Posted in Monday Mornings, Society | Posted on 03-11-2008

Will things get any better? Will they shite. Or maybe they will, but I won’t notice.

It’s Monday morning again – where did the weekend go? Despite being only 25, time seems to be passing by quicker and quicker with each passing day. And what scares me slightly is that whenever you mention it to an elder, they say that it doesn’t get any better as you get older. Seeing as most of my elders are 40+, that doesn’t fill me with much confidence.

“No, no, he’s too young for that. Maybe in a couple of years…”

Over 9000? By quite a long way, it seems. According to The Chairman, over 30,000 complaints have been received about Brand and Ross’ antics the other day. I bet if you asked them, 29,000 of those people wouldn’t even know what station Brand’s radio show was on, let alone what day and time it aired. But that’s enough talk about that shambles.
