Well, my Dad has his operation yesterday and it went swimmingly. I got a half drugged-up phonecall from him yesterday as he was coming out of the hospital to let me know that everything went well, so that’s a relief.

I heard yesterday that my Dad is to go into hospital this morning to undergo an angioplasty. That’s basically where they stick a balloon into an artery and inflate it to stop it from collapsing. Sounds drastic (and I guess it would be if it happened) but apparently it’s a fairly routine procedure and should go without a hitch. Here’s hoping!

Well it’s been a bit of a hectic week. A hectic couple, actually. I haven’t really had time to blog, especially now that I’m the sole web developer at work. I actually have to work for my money! But I soldier on!

Sorry for the lack of postings recently – I’ve been a tad busy. But I’ll try and find some time later on to post a proper update. For the time being, have a great St Patrick’s Day! (And don’t forget, it’s the world premier of the new Simpsons episode on tonight in the UK, for the first time!)

After I was so rudely interupted yesterday, I figured I’d carry on with my roundup of the current tech news and views.

Miraculously, despite the 20 days off work I booked last week, I’ve still got about 8 days of holiday left this year. Five are from this year’s quota, and three are left over from last year. I decided to take a few days this week, so I’ll only be at work for two days this week!

Had an awesome day yesterday!
I got to work, and straight away I checked on the status of my holiday booking – and it had been approved! So that’s four solid weeks I’ve got off from work in the summer, ready to go on this road trip across America!

For some strange reason, I decided to go to bed a bit later than usual last night. I know that if I do, I’ll have no energy the following day (and sure enough I haven’t) but I still do it on occasion.

Christmas tree update – it’s down! It only took two solid months, but our Christmas tree has finally been taken down. I personally wanted to see it stay up until March at least, but apparently it was just too big not to notice, and someone took it upon themselves to stick it back up into the loft. Perhaps we’ll break the record next year.
