Well as you can see from this news story (and all the others) things aren’t looking too good for high street retailers. Woolworths, one of Britain’s national institutions, is going tits up. In the next couple of weeks there’s likely to be a few other retailers that are going to go the same way. MFI seems to be another one.

Morning all,
It’s been a day or two since I posted because I’ve had issues with WordPress, although it wasn’t WordPress that caused the issue, it was a Firefox extension. Thankfully I’ve got it sorted and the site is back to normal.

I didn’t get round to recording the mix that I wanted to at the weekend, which is quite surprising really seeing as I didn’t have a lot else to do. I did sleep a lot though.

I’ve been knackered all week for some reason. Probably because I didn’t get a great deal of sleep last weekend and didn’t bother to catch up during the course of the week. Ah well, that’s what this weekend will be used for! That, and recording my new mix.

When I wrote about International Talk Like A Pirate Day a few weeks back, never in a million years did I think that I’d be writing about actual pirates some weeks later. Yet here we are.
A few days after news broke that a Saudi-owned supertanker, containing 2 million barrels of oil, was hijacked near Somalia, we hear that the Indians have taken matters into their own hands, and blown a Somalian pirate ship out of the water. Good for them!

“I’d do it again, though…”
I know I haven’t blogged much during the last week or so, but (believe it or not) I’ve actually been busy at work. We’ve got a few things going on at the moment, which in this economic climate is a valued treasure, but it means that I’ve not been able to post much lately. Which is just as well really, as I’ve not really got a lot to mention.

“I’m sorry, I can’t do that Dave…”
Last night I was thinking about how great modern technology is, and how brilliant it is that all sorts of devices, from mobile phones to laptops to cameras, can all be connected together wirelessly. How much easier does it make things, when you have a bluetooth mobile and bluetooth laptop? It’s certainly easy to transfer files, as well as sync your various laptop apps to your mobile apps. But before we all get caught up with how good it is to be connected to everything all of the time, I’d like to air my veiws about the grim future that I see unfolding before our very eyes.

Or should I say ‘flop’?
Yes, I probably should. Yesterday I went to see the new James Bond film, Quantum Of Solace, and even after a slight warning from someone who had already seen it, I was still left feeling disappointed. It’s not a bad film, as such, but it’s not exactly great either. It’s got nothing that makes it stand out, except an overly expensive budget.

It’s the best day of the week again today! Although I’m looking forward to the weekend, I’ve got no idea what to do with it yet. After spending last weekend doing not a lot (except drinking – there was lots of that) I figured I’d have a relaxing one this time. I might even post on here for once!
